House as a symbol. Shelter as a concept. Physically, our first house is the maternal womb in which we are gestated. The diagrams, which I have inaugurated on the burlaps, are my attempts to project two seemingly paradoxical dimensions; yearning for a return to home and the longing to leave behind. These are the questions I have had in mind during the creative process, while I tried to picture houses as symbols of security. A house is one embodyment of home; "home is where the heart is," a feeling state of belonging, safety and contenement.
